What would be the need to see a geneticist for my newborn? - club feet and chromosomal

My doctor refers to a geneticist at the newborn. The only thing that is unacceptable that our new born with one foot on the train on a bit (like a club foot, but is not that difficult) and a heart murmur. The attending physician and a blood test to check their DNA to make sure I had a chromosomal abnormality, and is the normal, so why do we always want to see a geneticist?
